The
commitment ceremony is one that satisfies a number of needs. There are
those who intend to marry in the future, but wish to celebrate early for
various reasons, and there are those people who because of religious or
legal complications cannot go through the usual form of marriage.
Yet
again there are couples of the same sex whose commitment is as strong as
any other couple, who wish to celebrate their relationship by adding a
further ceremonial stage, and by including family and friends in the
ceremony. As one whose sensitivity to relationships is often noted by
others, I offer a wide range of choices to people who desire a commitment
ceremony.
The
Civil Partnership
Act
2008 of the Australian Capital Territory now allows people to register
their relationship and choose their own celebrant.
